I am a migration scholar, educator, and development practitioner with more than 15 years of experience working across migration policy, research, higher education, diaspora engagement, and intercultural learning. My academic journey took me from the University of Ghana, where I completed a Master of Arts in Migration Studies, to the Technical University of Berlin, where I earned a Ph.D. in Migration and Diaspora Studies.
Throughout my career, I have been driven by a deep interest in how migration shapes people's lives, communities, and societies. My work brings together research, policy, and practice, with a particular focus on migration, diaspora engagement, citizenship, belonging, and social inclusion. Along the way, I have had the privilege of collaborating with universities, research institutes, government agencies, international organisations, diaspora associations, schools, and civil society organisations across Africa and Europe.
What I value most is creating connections — between ideas and action, institutions and communities, and policy debates and lived experiences. Whether I am conducting research, developing programmes, supporting students, or facilitating intercultural dialogue, I seek to make complex issues more accessible and bring diverse perspectives into meaningful conversation. At the heart of my work is a commitment to helping people, organisations, and communities navigate change, build understanding, and create positive social impact.
Alongside this work, I bring hands-on classroom experience as a Class Educator at an international school in Berlin — a role that keeps me directly connected to the everyday realities of students, teachers, and families, and that shapes my approach to basic education and youth development.

Growing up in Accra, I was acutely aware of the multifaceted impact of migration on social and cultural structures at the family, local, and state levels. This early exposure, coupled with my first professional role focusing on migration and development policy, sparked a lifelong commitment to this field. My goal has always been to contribute to a better society by applying my professional and research expertise to develop effective socio-economic policies, strategies, and partnerships.
My academic and professional journey has been shaped by a longstanding commitment to understanding migration, diaspora engagement, and social inclusion. I began at the University of Ghana, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, developing a strong foundation in human behavior that continues to inform my work in applied social science and student welfare. I later completed a Master of Arts in Migration Studies at the same institution, establishing a lasting focus on transnational communities and diaspora dynamics.
To bridge theory with practice, I obtained a Diploma in Migration Management from Maastricht University in 2014, gaining valuable expertise in migration governance, policy development, and international cooperation. In 2016, I expanded my global perspective through the European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations — a joint programme spanning universities in Germany, Norway, and Slovenia. This experience strengthened my interdisciplinary approach to integration, inclusion, and community engagement.
I completed my academic training with a Ph.D. in Migration and Diaspora Studies from the Technical University of Berlin in 2021. My doctoral research, together with my work at the Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space (Erkner), reinforced my commitment to connecting academic research and public policy with the lived experiences of migrants, families, and communities.
Alongside my academic background, I bring over a decade of professional experience across migration research, policy, governance, and education. My public-sector work in Ghana provided a strong grounding in policy development, programme implementation, regulatory analysis, financial oversight, and collaboration with international partners, including the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
In Europe, my research with the Technical University of Berlin and the Leibniz Institute deepened my expertise in integration and transnational life. Additionally, during my time with the African Diaspora Policy Centre in The Hague, I explored the contributions of African diaspora organisations in the Netherlands to peacebuilding initiatives in Kenya, Rwanda, Djibouti, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Across these roles, I have conducted extensive fieldwork and interviews with diaspora organisations and key stakeholders across the field.
Beyond research and policy, I have led inclusive educational and community programmes, coordinated multidisciplinary teams, supported student welfare, and collaborated closely with parents and institutional stakeholders to create environments where diverse individuals can thrive. This combination of academic depth, policy expertise, programme leadership, and intercultural understanding enables me to support institutions in designing practical, people-centred solutions that create a meaningful impact.

School-Based Educational Experience
Grounded in ongoing classroom and after-school practice.
I have over five years of experience as an educator and educational leader in international school settings, combining classroom teaching, student support, programme leadership, and intercultural education. In addition to my ongoing role as a Class Educator, I previously served as Deputy Head of After-School Programmes (Ganztag), where I helped foster the academic, social, and personal development of students from diverse cultural and migration backgrounds.
As a Class Educator, I support students' daily learning, provide social and emotional guidance, and lead extracurricular life through the Badminton Club, Afro Club, and Diplomats Club — spaces where students build confidence, teamwork, and cultural awareness outside the regular timetable.
As Deputy Head of After-School Programmes, I helped coordinate the school's Ganztag offering: scheduling and supervising activities, supporting staff, liaising with parents and school leadership, and ensuring the programme ran safely and reliably for students and families who depended on it.
This experience has sharpened my understanding of educational leadership, intercultural understanding in the classroom, student wellbeing, and community engagement — the same foundations I bring to advisory work in basic education, youth development, and family support.
